LAM RESEARCH CORPORATION, Fremont                                 1990 - 1998 
Engineering manager / Project Manager (1994 - 1998).  As engineering manager, 
responsible for Mechanical Engineering and Design/Drafting department for Plasma Etch 
design engineering: 
* Department responsible for Research and Development, new products design, Continuous 
Improvement, and performance upgrades to existing products.  
* Products included Poly and Metal Plasma Etchers, which totaled over $600 million annual 
revenue for the corporation.    
* Prepared departmental budgets, established priorities at management level, allocated 
resources, and reviewed all technical projects.
Simultaneously, as Project Manager, responsible for Poly Etch module for Cluster-type 
product: 
* Led cross-functional design teams in new product introduction, Cost Reduction program, 
and sustaining existing products. Incorporated process, software and technical support 
engineers into cross functional teams.
* Drove projects from concept through beta testing and releasing to manufacturing.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (1990 - 1994).  Provided design engineering for Plasma 
Etch products in Research and Development as well as product support.
* Responsible for mechanical design of next generation plasma etch product, Transformer 
Coupled Plasma (TCP).  
* Designed RF Autotune for TCP source, optimized performance of reaction chamber and 
plasma source, and led design of process chamber for single wafer etch tool.  Selected 
material and components.
* Successfully implemented critical solutions for uniformity improvement, etch rate 
improvement, and particle reduction projects.
* Performed and documented vacuum, stress, flow, and thermal analysis.


FMC Corporation, San Jose                                                    1986 - 1990
Project Planner (1988 - 1990).  Departmental project engineer responsible for generating 
and tracking projects in Engineering department in producing advanced tracked vehicles at 
production level quantities.
* Generated multi-million dollar Fixed cost and Cost Plus contracts for engineering department.  
* Established and tracked milestones and budgets, which included Cost to complete and budget 
variances.

Mechanical Design Engineer (1986 - 1988).  Provided design engineering and manufacturing/field 
support for engineering design department.
* Responsible for vehicle (transmission, throttle, and brake) linkage designs, fuel system, 
and controls for advanced tracked vehicles.
* Redesigned and led optimization program to upgrade braking system as a result of 
10,000-lb weight increase of vehicle.
* Responsible for fuel delivery system and rotationally molded nylon fuel cells.
